I see her

I see them

Closing my eyes

I count to ten

One I’m the waves crashing in

Crawling up to sea

I think of how that could of been me

Stealing the flowers from the sand

To set them neatly on your desk

Watering them with my own flesh

Eight seconds in and a tsunami washes in

Now there are no more flowers for there to be desired

But when I open my eyes

I’m back to ten

Here we go again

I see her

I see them

One second in and tears fill this vast ocean again
