Just as a baptism cleanses in the name of God
Washes away the sins of those nine months
Now, twenty three years later, I leap into the salted sea
Glimmers in the sun’s presence above me, sinking down into the water
I hear the silence
For the babies and I cry together, chanting this tune of grace
The washing of sins before I touch the ocean floor
Just as a baby before it learns to walk
Blessed, rebirthed, where thousands of forms take place
In one inhale, my body forms into the essence of pureness and clarity
The sacredness of the sea to me is the baptism of life
Where a religion does not have to occur
Where form connects with body
Born thousands of times in just one lifetime
