“America the great”, “the land of the free”,” the best country on earth”… As they may say, and when I say “they” I mean Americans. That is not the case for everyone else that exists on this earth. However, it’s important to grasp some perspectives in these situations as a solo traveler. It helps me understand the world better. That’s why I’ve come up with quite humorous and also in-depth realizations. Whether you’re an American or non-American, this is something to read up on!

  1. Conspiracy Theories: The the icing on the cake when it comes to how gullible americans are and how laughable we can be for other people.

2. Americans are remarkably gullible, hence my first opinion above, We take everything literally.

3. We’re known as “the people with the guns”! Isn’t THAT something to rejoice about? let’s all take a moment of silence…

4. Most people I have met have never really cared to go to America, nor want to. It’s odd to me because I thought everyone and their grandmothers wanted to go!

5. America is a chaotic and wonderful theatrical play. The more you’re away from it, the more you realize it is a weird place, where everywhere else is more calm and collected.

6. It’s insanely fast lived compared to Europe and Asia, maybe even a little too fast, the last time I was there I felt like I could barely catch my breath, not enough space for relaxation it seems.

7. Americans live to work, as others work to live. I know, it’s hard to cope but if you re-read it a couple of times, it’ll blow your mind. Not that it is a bad thing, some people really enjoy it, including me. I’m also trying to introduce the slow pace of life and to give myself a break to not strive to be such a workaholic.

8. Most people don’t care about success or money as much as Americans do. Big houses on hills, luxurious cars, the best materialistic lives for themselves… the American dream, essentially. The more I looked into other people’s cultures, I have conducted that the majority of people just wanted to have community, connection, happiness. Most conversations I have had with non-Americans didn’t involve money or what I do for a living. People just aren’t that interested in that status quo.

9. Extremely Ambitious people. Americans are definitely the go-getters and strive to succeed in anything we set our minds to. I don’t think I’ve met such charismatic people. It’s one thing I like most about us.

10. Confidence pretty much spills out our mouths when we speak. Sometimes, even if we have no idea if something is true or not, we stick to it and don’t need any reassurance, or at least don’t like to show it.

11. Independent, Independent, oh, and Independent. We seem to be all for ourselves to other people, whereas some people strive to keep communities alive. Personally, I can see this by the way we want to have our houses gated from the floor up to the roof, away from everyone and everything.

Disclaimer: This is all based on what I have been exposed to in conversations and seeing the way other parts of the world work. This is my own personal opinion and experience.
